El trabajo de la fotógrafa Mary Ellen Mark se prolongó por más de 40 años. Fue galardonada con innumerables reconocimientos, becas y premios a lo largo de su fructífera carrera. Empleando sus propias palabras, ellas siempre buscó "fotografiar el mundo tal como es. No hay nada más interesante que la realidad".
